Being well-hydrated is crucial for getting clear 4D images. We recommend drinking two extra glasses of water per day in the week leading up to your scan. This helps increase the amount of amniotic fluid around your baby, making those precious face shots even clearer.
At Baby Bumps, we’re committed to providing a personalised and high-quality experience. We’re not a ‘conveyor belt’ clinic. Instead, we focus on giving you and your guests ample time to enjoy the scan without feeling rushed. We ensure all scan findings are explained clearly and answer any questions you may have.
You and your baby’s health and well-being are our top priorities. Each scan begins with a well-being check to ensure your baby is developing normally. Our qualified and registered sonographers provide a detailed medical report after your scan. If we find anything unexpected, we have strong connections with local NHS hospitals to facilitate prompt referrals.
Good 4D images depend on your baby being in the right position. If necessary, we might ask you to wait in our comfortable waiting area for a short time while your baby moves into a better position. We’ll keep you refreshed with complimentary tea, coffee, and soft drinks.
*If we’re unable to obtain satisfactory images on the day, we offer a free rescan at another time.
How to prepare for your 4D scan

- Stay Hydrated: Being well-hydrated is key for clear 4D images. Aim to drink two extra glasses of water per day in the week leading up to your scan to ensure there’s plenty of amniotic fluid around your baby.
- Wear Comfortable Clothing: Choose loose-fitting clothes for your appointment to ensure you’re comfortable throughout the scan.
- Bring Your Pregnancy Notes: If you have your pregnancy notes, please bring them along. They can be helpful for our sonographers in preparing for your scan.
